Social Worker
Chiang Mai, Thailand
Hello, my name is Kamonwan.
I currently serve as the Aftercare Coordinator and as a community social worker.
My work involves working with communities and providing education about the dangers of human trafficking, online threats, and various scams.
I also have opportunities to teach communities in different areas, helping them understand the dangers of human trafficking.
I have also worked in social services, following up with children who have returned to their families. This is very important work.
We reunite children with their families and we strongly believe follow-up is essential for monitoring and supporting their growth.
I sincerely hope Rapha’s work will continue to play an important role in moving communities forward and helping them become strong. Community work is extremely important.
During my 17 years of working at Rapha, I have helped children alongside the entire Rapha team. One major problem I have seen is that even after we assess readiness, support children, and reunite families, some children return to the same harmful cycle, causing great concern. I have found that this problem comes from families that are not strong.
I am deeply grateful to Rapha for giving me the opportunity to work with communities and understand how important this work is. When we strengthen communities and families, I firmly believe we reduce children’s risk of entering human trafficking.
I believe the family is the most important foundation. Strong families help keep children safe and reduce their risk of trafficking.
Thank you very much.
